Beatrice Rossmanith, Founder and Director of Mothership Media Consultancy

Beatrice Rossmanith

Founder & Director

I love working with data. I partner with key research companies to dive deep into the business, editorial and viewership trends of our time and decipher what makes an audience tick.

What gets me up in the morning is connecting the components of a project, in any format, from series and features to micro, with its emotional impact on audiences wherever they are in the world.

Beatrice has spent twenty years in international distribution across factual series and one-off docs, entertainment formats, scripted content and branded entertainment. She has pitched shows directly to buyers worldwide, negotiated licensing terms, brought paper formats to screen with local producers and revived mothballed IP.

As Managing Director of Glance Ltd she consulted on scripts in development and brand-new series before they went on air, working closely with acquisition and programming heads at broadcasters including RTÉ, Sky UK, ITV, SBS Australia, NBC Global Channels and Tencent Video. She delivered regular editorial insight sessions to studios such as Sony, NBCU and Fremantle.

Career

2024–2026
NFTS · Postgraduate diploma, Script Development
2021–2024
Glance Ltd · Managing Director (formerly Tape Consultancy, now part of Glance-Médiamétrie)
2020–2021
Insight TV & Magnify Media · Consultant, co-productions & international formats
2019–2020
Red Bull Media House · Director, Distribution & Partnerships France, Nordics, Benelux

Before the creation of Red Bull Studios, my role encompassed live sports events, branded series and co-production projects across my territories. I worked on well-known Red Bull franchises such as Cliff Diving and Crashed Ice, and set up co-productions with broadcasters such as Planète+ (Flying: Le Rêve de Zapata) and Insight TV (Breaking Beyond).

2017–2019
Awesomeness / NBCU · Director, Distribution & Partnerships EMEA

Way before the creator economy was a thing, Awesomeness was a trailblazer in digital-first content. I led sales and creative partnerships with broadcasters, streamers and producers across EMEA.

2010–2017
Passion Distribution · Senior Manager

Over my years at Passion, I covered a wide chunk of the world, including the Americas, Western Europe (excluding the UK) and CEE. I represented exciting catalogues in the lifestyle genre (HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel) and enduring formats like Worst Driver, Paradise Hotel and RuPaul’s Drag Race.

2006–2010
Journeyman Pictures

Moving across various positions, from intern to heading sales, Journeyman is where I gained an in-depth understanding of how a small company works, from bookkeeping to marketing to pitching and negotiating. It’s also where my lifelong appreciation for the documentary genre was born.
